Vegan and Vegetarian cuisine has become very popular in Warsaw. Recently more and more bars and restaurants are born under this concept, where you may find: hummus, green cocktails or vegetarian burgers, becoming very popular among people.
One of the places that you have to visit if you are vegetarian, is Krowarzywa. This is a small bar but with a perfect location. We recommend you this place and we can say that Krowarzywa is for vegetarians, as what Mecca is for Muslims. In our opinion those are the best vegan burgers in Warsaw!
The atmosphere of Krowarzywa changes during the whole year. During Summer, the walkway in front of the bar is filled with stools and everyone is sitting outside enjoying their burgers. On the other hand, during cold and cloudy days there is not even one person outside. Everyone is inside sitting or standing wherever, but the atmosphere is amazing.
You can choose from six types of burgers:
Jaglanex – millet
Warzywex – Vegetable
Tofex – slices of smoked tofu (soya cheese)
Seitanex – breaded wheat meat
Burger of the day/week – asian, italian etc.
Later you have to choose the type of bread: regular, whole wheat or gluten-free roll (3zł more)
Two types of sauce from the following: mustard, vegan mayonnaise, tomato, spicy tomato, dill, seasonal
My favorite burger is: Cieciorex with whole wheat bread, vegan mayonnaise and spicy tomato .
Recently on Marszałkowska street, in front of Cinema Luna, the second Krowarzywa bar was opened. The bar is big and has new furniture, but I think that Krowarzywa on Hoża street is still better. Even though is really small, but it has an incredible atmosphere.
Curiosity: Krowarzywa #1 on the Hoża street is based in the building where Ludwik Lejzer Zamenhof (creator of Esperanto language)
